Well, I’ve completed my first 25 while 25 challenge! If you can remember (or if I can get my butt in gear and put up a page highlighting this challenge), there were 5 books I especially wanted to read this year and the first one was Tina Fey’s autobiography/ memoir Bossypants. I may be a little biased because I already idolized Tina Fey before I read this book, but now I can say that I honestly love her even more…if that’s possible. I mean, the Sarah Palin act…it doesn’t get much better than that?
Basically, I was crying from laughing so hard while reading this book. Tina does an awesome job of telling these random stories from her life that all somehow flow together, all while throwing in some one-liners in there. Her book covers all topics, from her childhood and how she got her scar (I never even realized it was a scar?!) to climbing the ranks in the comedy world, to being a mother.
My favorite thing though, was Tina’s ability to write so personally. I literally felt like she was sitting right next to me, telling me these stories as I was reading. Maybe it has to do with the fact that she has written sketches for SNL and produced her on TV show for quite sometime, I donno. 🙂 After reading this, I admire Tina even more for the hard work she puts in and I think she is a fabulous example of how women can be successful in WHAT THEY LOVE if they put themselves out there entirely and never give up.
So there you have it, short and sweet for Friday! I’m headed back to Iowa where apparently they have around 6-10 inches of snow…irrr yeah. Have a good weekend peeps!
